Kiulu River White Water Rafting

If you are fond of extreme water sports, a Kiulu River white water rafting session is exactly what you need in order to improve your skills and stay fit during your holiday on the Borneo Island.

Situated in the district of Sabah, at a relatively short distance from the Kota Kinabalu city, the Kiulu River is a well known destination for anyone who loves rafting and kayaking. The rapids of this river are rated class II-III difficulty level, therefore, it is accessible only for rafters who possess a lot of experience and an excellent physical condition.

However, there is no reason to be disappointed if you are only a beginner in white water rafting. Every group is accompanied by a professional guide that has excellent skills in this sport and is a reliable source of advice regarding the traps hidden in the meanders of the rapids. Besides, most of them speak English very well, so there will be no communication barriers during the Kiulu River white water rafting sessions.

As for the necessary equipment, you do not need to bring it with you, because there are specialized centers available in the area, from where you can rent everything you need, from life jackets to rafts and paddles. However, make sure you pack a few absolutely necessary items, such as sunglasses, one or two towels, dry clothes, insect repellents and sunscreen lotion.

It is very important that you abide by the indications provided by the rafting instructor and listen very carefully to the safety rules presented during the briefing held before the beginning of every session. This way, you will be able to avoid accidents and their potentially serious consequences.

If you remember all these things, any Kiulu River white water rafting expedition can be both a challenging and an entertaining experience.
